By on March 18th, 2021

Uche Mefor, the previous deputy head of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), has clarified that Asari Dokubo, a former Niger-Delta militant leader, did not make himself the leaderof Biafra.

As indicated by  Mr. Mefor explained that the  chiefs  of the newly formed Biafra Defacto Customary Government, appointed Dokubo as the president of Biafra.

On Saturday night, March 14, Asari Dokubo, Uche Mefor, Ralph Uwazurike and others met with journalists at the Zoom news agency and said they had launched a plan called “Biafra Defacto Customary Government”.

They also said that Mr. Asari Dokubo will be the new president of the camp as Uche Mefor will be their Secretary.

The implication of the meeting is that a new plan has also been reached to demand the independence of Biafra.

Uche Mefor told BBC Igbo that their plan was to mobilize all the Biafra groups “for the good of the Biafrans”.

He said, “It was not Asari who volunteered, it was all us who brought it out.”
