YOBE STATE: Governor speaks on the entry of Insurgents into the State

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai-Mala Buni has called the military to do something urgently about the insecurity in the Northern part of the country most importantly about the incessant Bombings by the Boko Haram sect and the kidnapping that has graced the nation in recent times.

The Governor made this known earlier this evening, Sunday 25th April, 2021 when he was in a meeting with the Chief of Defence staff, General Lucky Irabor.

During a press briefing by the Director of Press Affairs and Media to the Governor, Mallam Mamman Muhammed, said the Governor had since Friday been in constant conversation with the security agencies about the incessant criminal activities that has graced the state in recent times.

However, the Governor has been reported to have been in liaison with the security agents on the procedures to ensure peace and communal coexistence in the state. Most especially Geidam and the neighbouring communities.

The governor however noted that “The problem we have is the movement of the insurgents from the fringes of Lake Chad into the State”. He made mention amongst other that “We need to check this holistically to proffer permanent solution to the menace”.

Being aware of the problems that has graced the Geidam community, the Governor has noted that he won’t stop at exploring all necessary solutions in order to ensure security and security of the people of Geidam.
