Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has been arrested and quizzed by the Department of State Services, hours after he was released by the military, BBC Igbo reports.
Agu’s colleagues who tried to secure his release made this known to BBC News Igbo, adding that the DSS said a qualified lawyer must be on ground to sign before they release him.
According to the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, they had expected the actor to appear soonest but he had remained in the custody of the DSS longer than expected.
Nigerian actor, Steve Eboh, who liased with the military for Agu’s release, said DSS were quizzing the actor in an interview Friday afternoon.
He, however, added that Chiwetalu Agu was in good health.
The military had on Friday released Agu after arresting him on Thursday for wearing Biafra regalia around Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra state where he was giving bread to people.
