Information reaching our correspondents as Nine persons lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident over the weekend.

The said victims are believed to be traveling for a wedding ceremony at Ewato in Esan South-East Local Government Area, Edo State when they encountered the car crash.

The car was said to have ran in to a cement truck at Ekpon Junction along Agbor-Ewohimi Road, Igeuben Local Government Area.

Nine people however were involved in the car crash leaving a 15 year old boy as one of survivors. The bodies of the dead ones have been taken to the morgue while the survivor has been taken to the hospital as at the time of this report.

With a speedy response, member of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived at the scene. And while speaking with our correspondents, Mr. Henry Benamaisa confirmed that five of the victims died on the spot while others have been taken to the hospital and the 15-year old boy has been admitted in the intensive care unit.

Mr. Henry Benamaisa however added, “From the report, the accident was as a result of loss of control viz-a-viz excessive speed. The Sienna bus driver was trying to avoid something and left his lane to the other and then went under the truck”.
