The Nigerian civil war (also known as the Biafran war and the Nigerian-Biafran war) was a civil war in Nigeria fought between the Government of Nigeria headed by General Yakubu Gowon and the secessionist state of Biafra led by late Lt. Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu (1933-2011) from 6 July 1967 to 15 January 1970.

Biafra Is ancient kingdom that have existed for over 5000 years and more. It is derived from two Igbo words “Bia (come) and “Fra (take). It is a word commonly used by the Igbo tribe in the West African sub-region which they were later Identified with.

A Civil War Veteran known as Francis has shared what the Biafrans nation want and the things they had suffered. Francis was among those who saw the Nigerian war known as Biafra war, fought the war and survive the war to share the story about the war.

According to him “I am a Biafran and Colonel by rank. I enter the Army at the age of 18 and until now I am fighting for Biafra. We fought for Injustice and the Injustice is still prevailing.

“Igbos were killed from 1945 even before the independent and Biafra has existed for over 600 years before the Amalgamation. We are Biafrans and not Nigerians, the things that made us to be Nigerians is oil and the oil is given to us by God so that we can serve him with it.

“Biafra was recognized during the war and it is a nation under United Nations. Biafra was recognized as suffering nation because the people that recognized Biafra were not known. It is high time for Biafrans to create their own Nation and if any Igbo man says he is not a Biafran, let him go where he belongs to.

“The restoration of Biafra is all we went and not Independence because we have our money, National Anthem, Coat of Arm and flag. Biafra Coat of Arm is a Lion and a drove. The Lion represents Jesus ( the Lion of the tribe of Judah) and the drove represents Jesus (the drove that descended on Jesus when he was baptized by John the Baptist)”.
